CYCLING

Champion's fatique

From skiing to rafting, from bike to horse, the Stura Valley offers an ideal environment for all sportsmen. Every year it welcomes thousands of cyclists who can try their hand at the climbs and descents covered by the Giro d’Italia, the Tour de France and also the Granfondo Fausto Coppi. Among centuries-old chestnut trees and pastures, from the Cuneo plain up to high altitudes, the experts face the roads that lead to the Lombarda Pass and Maddalena Hill, Madonna del Colletto, as well as the Sanctuary of Sant’Anna and the thermal place of Vinadio.

Another cliché route for cyclists is the road that leads from the Vallone dell’Arma to the Colle di Fauniera, where a statue celebrates the conquest of the pink jersey by Marco Pantani at the 1999 Giro d’Italia.
