A structured and dynamic cross-country circuit, a reflection of the lively and young Festionese community
The Festiona Cross-Country Ski Center, located at 710 meters above sea level, can rightly be considered a Nordic island in the heart of the Stura Valley. The small hamlet of Demonte is home to an important and well-known Nordic ski area, with 42 km of trails in a tranquil and pristine environment. Festiona is the starting point of the extraordinary cross-country ski circuit called “Pista Promenado – Valle Stura,” which connects the Festiona Cross-Country Ski Center with the Aisone Cross-Country Ski Center. The strength of the “Rucias Bianc” amateur association, which manages the sports facility, is the hospitality and preparation of the trails, where nationally and internationally renowned champions such as Stefania Belmondo, Lorenzo Romano, and Katia Tomatis have trained and continue to train. The Cross-Country Ski Center includes trails with various morphological characteristics and varying levels of difficulty, ideal for learning basic technique and essential for a complete and effective workout, both for tourists and for those preparing for a competitive season.
On site it is possible to rent complete equipment for both classic and freestyle techniques.
Another strong point of the resort is the presence of the Italian Ski School, which also specializes in teaching cross-country skiing to children with disabilities.
During the spring and summer, the Cross-Country Ski Center offers beach volleyball on a brand-new court. It’s also the starting point for many mountain bike trails included in the Valle Stura MTB circuit.
