I am Marika Abbà, a Tour Guide and an Environmental Hiking Guide of the Piedmont Region. I live in the province of Cuneo and have an irrepressible passion for the mountains. Whether backpacking, on a climbing route or along a lonely trail, any excuse is good to go on an adventure!
The Stura Valley is my adopted valley. I knew it as a child, when my parents used to take me there, but it was by hiking MigrAction in 2020 that I really learned to love it. I chose to turn my passion into a job, that of a hiking guide, when I had to leave my career as a travel agent. Since then, my goal is to share the beauty of these places with others, accompanying them not only along the trails, but inside the stories and traditions of the mountains.
I love historical research and the testimonies I have collected among the Terres of Monviso. When I walk among the hamlets of Ferriere, Neraissa or Lentre, it is as if time stops in the 1950s, taking me back to the pages of Nuto Revelli. With my hikes I want to revive these atmospheres, immersing those who accompany me in a journey through time and nature.
In addition to exploring and narrating the mountains, I collaborate with Komoot on trail promotion and wrote the book “The Inviolate Face – The First Ascent of the Northwest Face of Monviso.”
If you are looking for an authentic experience of adventure, nature and stories that leave a mark, then it’s time to set out together.
