{"id":5243,"date":"2022-02-02T11:04:10","date_gmt":"2022-02-02T10:04:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vallesturaexperience.it\/1747224622712?cosa_vedere=ecomuseum-of-sheep-breeding"},"modified":"2025-07-03T16:55:40","modified_gmt":"2025-07-03T14:55:40","slug":"ecomuseum-of-sheep-breeding","status":"publish","type":"cosa_vedere","link":"https:\/\/www.vallesturaexperience.it\/en\/cosa_vedere\/ecomuseum-of-sheep-breeding\/","title":{"rendered":"Ecomuseum of sheep breeding"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\t<div id=\"text-2778813957\" class=\"text\">\n\t\t\n\n<p class=\"lead\">The enhancement of the Sambucana Breed\n<\/p>\n\n\t\t\n<style>\n#text-2778813957 {\n  color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\n}\n#text-2778813957 > * {\n  color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\n}\n<\/style>\n\t<\/div>\n\t\n<p align=\"justify\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecomuseopastorizia.it\/\">Ecomuseum of Pastoralism<\/a> was officially founded in 2000 in <strong>Pontebernardo<\/strong> \u2013 an alpine village located at 1,400 meters above sea level, in the municipality of Pietraporzio \u2013 in conjunction with the inauguration of the exhibition \u201c<em>La Routo \u2013 On the roads of transhumance between the Alps and the sea<\/em>\u201c.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Its conception dates back many years before, when the then <strong>Comunit\u00e0 Montana Valle Stura<\/strong> undertook a path both of cultural rebirth and of economic revitalization of the activity of pastoralism and of the whole context connected to it.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The Ecomuseum deals on one side with the recovery of the <strong>sheep breed Sambucana<\/strong>, autochthonous of the valley, which in the 1980s risked disappearing; on the other side of the rediscovery of the cultural heritage inherent in the pastoral world of the Stura Valley and its offshoots in the plain of the <strong>French Crau<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The Ecomuseum of Pastoralism is a path \u2013 <i>draio<\/i> in the language of oc \u2013 that aims to bring out the pastoralism as an important economic resource and enhance the wealth of knowledge related to this activity.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The museum is entitled \u201c<i>Na draio per vioure<\/i>\u201c, expression that in the local language of oc means \u201c<em>A path to live<\/em>\u201d. It is proposed a path where the visitor is invited to discover how sheep farming in the Valley is a reality still alive and an important economic and cultural resource. It thus presents a journey from birth to the evolution of pastoralism in the different areas bordering the Mediterranean.
